Family

3.     Here is a directory of PeaceHost.net's family of Websites and pages:

Abraham, my father, once said something both profound and moving.  A friend and I were on our way to Muir Woods when he remarked, "My son has become my brother."  Come to know another remarkable person.  Visit this memorial Website if only to view a photo of him I call "the Prophet" for reason which will appear obvious, and to read Carolyn Scarr's wonderful and poetic, and Arnie Westerback's amusing, tributes.  Shalom!

The "Abuelita Jean" website honors my mother, a truly remarkable person, a nearly life-long committed pacifist and social activist.  To explore, particularly, her role in the Puerto Rican independence movement, please visit her site.  Y que ¡viva Bortinquen libre!

David is a Hebrew name meaning, "beloved".  My brother took the stairway to heaven just two days after 2001's Bloody Tuesday.  You may pay your respects, if you wish.

The Rev. Dr. Frank S.C. Wicks was a noted Unitarian Minster at All Souls Unitarian Church in Indianapolis, author of the denimination-wide famous sermon, "Good Men In Hell".  It has been said that he and the local priest and rabbi ran that town for nearly three decades.  He was also my grandfather.  This will be a site-in-progress for years, probably, as I'd love to post all the sermons of his I have.  In the meantime, say Hi! to ...

TownCrier @ PeaceHost.net is another soapbox, geared towards urgent alerts and actions.  I fear I do not employ it frequently enough, for people tend toward their own topics of interest, and so notices may be dated.  But pay it a visit nonetheless.  Occasionally lives are at stake.

Is it the new Vietnam?  Visit the Colombietnam Website and judge for yourself.  We ignore this issue at our peril.

Vieques is the sister island "la Isla Nena" to Puerto Rico. For more than forty years it has been occupied by the U.S. Navy, its ecology and fishing industry all but destroyed. The Viequenses are held hostage and nearly powerless in their home while their backyard is being bombed back into the Pleistoscene. But they are striking back non-violently! Read about the uprising of these remarkable people (and my mother's role in the movement), y que ¡viva Bortinquen libre!

Despite repeated calls from the international community, inlcuding the U.N. Committee on Decolonization, to divest ourselves of our colony, Puerto Rico, we refuse to even admit we hold one, calling it a "Free Associated State". That's like calling a slave a "Voluntary Associate". Well, a slave is a slave and a colony is a colony and the qualitative difference between the two is too close to call.  Read an up-close & personal account of the Puerto Rican independence movement written by my mother, Jean in the form of bios of figures, leading and obscure, patriots all. "Voices for Independence" is online both in English, y ¡también in español!. Don't miss the blurb by actor/activist, Ed Asner, and the forward by former Representative, Ron Dellums! Que ¡viva Bortinquen y Puerto Rico libre! (sense a common theme here?)
