Where Incarceration Isn’t the Answer
Frustrations with the U.S. prison system have prompted a global search for alternatives. Yet the solution might not be as simple as “be like Scandinavia.”

In response to Auburn Calloway’s appeal, Mark wrote:

Thank you for sharing information about your campaign. Based on what you have presented, that place definitely needs to be shut down. But although you have done an outstanding job of describing horrific, intolerable conditions, I think your challenge is making the majority care. For people who have no family or acquaintances in prison, their imaginations and stereotypes lead them to believe that everyone behind bars is a raging, psychopathic monster who deserves the worst conditions possible. Consequently, my suggestion is that in addition to describing the conditions in the institution, that you also put a human face on the people who are impacted by them. There are no doubt artists, singers, writers, laborers, and other talented people in the prison who left behind beautiful families and communities who wait patiently for their return. Your readers need to know about these prisoners and how the conditions of confinement threaten their potential for rejoining and making positive contributions to their communities. There will still be many who won't care, but those with potential for concern are more likely to become concerned and act on it when they are able to know about real people they can relate to. Auburn would like for you to please pray or meditate simultaneously at 4:00PM PST/7:00PM EST on December 13, 2020 for at least five minutes, to help heal the world, and to cure it of the global killing and incarceration machine that the United States has become.

PARTICULARLY POIGNANT DEDICATION

This website and its lead prayer is particularly dedicated to four little innocent black girls who were murdered with a bomb planted in their church on a Sunday morning in Birmingham, Alabama. They are:

They were killed by a hateful evil non-Jewish "Angry White Man" in the 1960s, when the murder of black Americans, especially by lynching (some for merely trying to register to vote!), was still like a sport for non-Jewish White American Males (WAMs).

But to make a very important point, I also dedicate this website and its lead prayer to all of the countless victims of the following WAMs. If you do not recognize their names, you have not paid close enough attention to what is going on around you in the U.S.A.:

I wouldn't blame you if you said "Whew!" to yourself after reading this list but the fact is that this list is only a small fraction of an endless list over the length of U.S. history which reflects morbid mortality at the hands of non-Jewish WAMs. For example, all of the torture victims of WAM U.S. soldiers at prisons like Abu Ghraib, Bahgram, and Gitmo make their torturers qualify for such a list. General George Custer before Wounded Knee make him qualify for this list. Every General on both sides of the U.S. CIVIL WAR would qualify for this list. The assassins of all four U.S. presidents, like John Wilkes Booth, would qualify as all four assassins were white males! The now nameless killers of Emmett Till would qualify along with countless others like those WAMs who forced the Cherokee Nation off their land for the "Trail of Tears" trek to Oklahoma and those who forced the Navajo Nation onto the "Long Walk" from their homeland.

But a special mention of the late president Harry Truman is needed because although the immediate death toll of his victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki only numbered in the hundreds of thousands, millions have died from radiation related illnesses in the long aftermath of his nuclear weapons drops on those two civilian populations. Thus Truman's death toll exceeds that of Adolf Hitler when stretched over a longer time period but shows an equally evil indifference to human life.

Please pray my prayer, a desperate prayer for the victims of the U.S. government and its minions among us, on DECEMBER 13, 2020 at 4pm Pacific time and 7pm EST, and all corresponding times in between for all other time zones in the U.S. and around the world. You will be amazed at what our collective psychic intention accomplishes if there is enough of us praying together in synchronous mass prayer.

A DESPERATE PRAYER FOR VICTIMS OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT

Blessed are You [Hashem, God, Brahman, Allah] our Maker and Source.
Creator of the universe, Who forms light and creates darkness, makes peace and creates all things.
You illuminate the Earth and those who dwell upon it.
In Your goodness the work of creation is renewed daily and perpetually.
Yet, through their insidious deeds, mass destruction is perpetrated even in Your presence by evildoers.

May You remember this day as we pray that You turn Your attention to these evildoers, especially those in the United States government and the corporate plutocracy that controls them.
As for their financially trapped minions among us who also impose their evil deeds and even death upon the accused and the innocent alike, show them Your way, dear God, so that they might defend the victims instead of the evildoers.

As they ruin our world that they need to control due to greed, selfishness, callous indifference, and their bloodthirsty lust for war, mass incarceration, money, and power, let them know of Your power to stop them on behalf of those whom they oppress.

And because they oppress all of us with their evil acts, save us [Hashem, God, Allah]; we pray that You allow us to live in peace and love under Your rule alone on Earth,
Your gift to all mankind.
God, trustworthy King, lead us in peace, and guide us in peace, and support us in peace.
